Show Notes:
Not a lot to remember here. I alluded to a bit of it in the Metallica set (upped by bubba a couple weeks back), but Aerosmith was PISSED, because the deal with Woodstock was "no band stage sets, just the Woodstock provided lights and whatnot". Then Metallica came out and blew the place up (pyro, BIG no-no). So I'm not sure if Woostock gave Aerosmith full rein or what, but this performance, to me, is the best I've ever heard them sound, at least since the 70's. No shit. Or, what I'm getting at, is you can hear the anger come thru in the performance. Loud and fucking clear. This recording actually came out pretty good, in comparison to most of my Woodstock '94 masters. Maybe they gave Aerosmith some extra volume, I'm not sure. Other than my technical difficulties (the very end of the show is missing, and I think my tape flips were kinda weak). And it was POURING RAIN during this set. Like I remember watching the video weeks later, and you could see them squeegee the stage and literally sheets of water were flying up in the air when the workers were pushing the water. I'd been standing in the same spot for over 12 hours, and feel somewhat lucky that this audience tape exists at all (and due to the hour, I slept in and missed The Allman Brothers on Sunday). Anyhow, not sure if Dennis left in any of the pre-show chat, but it was some kinda funny stuff. And he's a kind soul for upping all of this crap. Yes, I dragged 20 tapes and 80 batteries to a PPV show. Don't ask me what the fuck I was thinking
